Our little boy doesn't seem so little anymore! (at 4 months, he's almost outgrowing 6-9month clothing!) He's learning to do many more things and is much more interactive/responsive now. He continues to love listening to music. We recently bought him a mobile for his crib so that when he wakes up in the morning, he has something to look at. During the day, I sometimes put him in his crib for a few minutes while I am cleaning up his diaper changing area. As soon as I wind up the mobile and the music starts playing, a huge smile just shows up on his face and he looks up at me and then at his mobile and sometimes starts to "talk" to the animals on the mobile. I've also started showing him some Baby Einstein video clips on youtube. Here's a picture of him enjoying listening to the music.

He's also more a lot more playful now. Before when I use to try to make him laugh, he would just smile - but now he usually responds with laughter. Here is a video of him while I play "peek-a-boo" with him.

His tummy times aren't very exciting because he doesn't roll over yet, but last week I noticed he is kind of moving around a little. Here is a picture of him at the start of tummy time and then about 3 minutes later.

Although he doesn't have enough strength to sit up, he still attempts to. He looks so uncomfortable to me when he does this, but apparently it's his posture of choice! Here he is in his rocking chair, trying to sit up. He gets tired after a little bit and then takes a rest to enjoy sucking on his thumb.

Another thing that Matthew has been doing a lot lately is blowing "raspberries". He's a picture of him hard at work!

Other things that I've noticed him doing is playing with his hands - it's a big deal to him that his left hand can touch his right hand, grabbing onto things that are near his hands - like burp clothes, blankets or his pants, splashing the water in the tub when I give him a bath, and just observing the world around him. Next milestone...eating baby food! This week we start him on baby cereal. Hopefully that helps him to sleep through the night better!
