I wanted to keep track of Matthew's every first...so when I see something happen, I'll think to myself, I need to write that down and blog about it later. Unfortunately, one thing or another prevents me from writing it down and then I end up forgetting about what I wanted to blog about.
Anyways, Matthew seemed to develop and learn many new things around the 9 - 10 months old timeframe. Some of the things that he does are:
- closing his eyes, scrunching up his face, and rubbing his forehead with the back of his hands when he doesn't want to eat anymore
- clapping his hands (but you have to ask him in Chinese)
- giving his own version of "fly kisses" (closest translation i could think of...in Chinese it's "fay mun")
- doing a motion for "deem choong choong" (again, that's Chinese...don't know how to translate to English)
- forming the "m" sound (so he might have said ma-ma...but it could have been mum-mum for food - judging by his pudginess, I'd guess the latter :P)
- sleeping on his tummy
- slowly scooting around on his butt to get places on his own
- wanting to be held by hands so that he can "walk" around
- being entranced by the vacuum cleaner (he just stares at it the whole time we're vacuuming)
- being able to understand when I tell him to give me something (again, you have to ask him in Chinese)
I'm amazed at how much he can understand at this age. He's like a sponge soaking up everything he sees. I can't believe our little boy is going to be one soon! Oh Matthew, we love you soooooo much!
