Unblocked Tear Duct

Since birth, Matthew's had blocked tear ducts. The tear duct in his left eye cleared up on its own after a few months and we were hoping the same would happen for his right eye. At his 9 month check up, his right eye tear duct was still blocked so his pediatrician recommended that we get that fixed. Today, we took Matthew to a pediatric ophthalmologist to get his tear duct unblocked. The thought of having something going into the tear duct of my little boy wasn't pleasant....but he was so good. Of course, there was some crying involved, but after the procedure (which only took a few minutes) was completed and the doctor handed him back to me, he stopped his crying and we were even able to get a few smiles out of him. Our brave little boy. Hopefully this procedure fixed everything and he won't have to experience waking up to having his eye sealed shut by eye boogers anymore!
