Year End Update!

Matthew has been doing great in school.  During parent/teacher conferences, his teacher said he's a joy to have in her class and that he's always very happy and helpful.  One day I even received a random call from his teacher that he was the star call of the week and that he's a great student, a great helper and always kind to others.

His favorite thing to do in first grade is of course recess.  But during recess, they usually play soccer - it's the first graders against the service squads.  Everyday he comes home and give me the download on which team won - usually the service squad but in the past few weeks, the first graders started to win a game or two!

Currently, his best friend from school is Jake.  "Me and Jake did this", "Me and Jake did that", "Jake wants to have a play date - can he come over?"  We have yet to set up a play date though.  Are they necessary when they see each other 5 days a week??

Matthew continues to be the sweet, sensitive little boy he is.  A few weeks ago, he woke up, changed himself, brushed his teeth without me asking him to, came downstairs and got breakfast all by himself.  When I asked him why he did it, he said it was because he needed to do it for their church Sunday school assignment but also because I shouldn't have to do any of it for him since I'm pregnant.  How thoughtful is that?  Another example of his thoughtfulness - Sundays are usually my grocery shopping day and he's been coming with me because he said he wants to keep me company.  This kid knows how to melt my heart.

Then there's the silly part of this little guy.  His latest dance groove is Whip and Nae-Nae.
